| CAF offers spaces for private-event
rental. All are located on the ground-floor of the Santa Fe
Building at 224 South Michigan Avenue at Jackson. This magnificent
early-20th-century edifice was designed by Daniel Burnham, a
giant in Chicago’s architectural history, and was fully
restored in the mid-1980s. Ample, competitively priced parking
is available immediately adjacent to the building in the newly
renovated South Grant Park underground garage, managed by Laz
Parking. The Chicago Architecture Foundation also is easily
reached via many public transit options. Facilities are
fully accessible. |

Lecture Hall Gallery
Accommodates 150 lecture seats and 200 people for receptions.
A built-in sound system and large projection screen included.
Space also features rotating exhibitions. Currently on display
is B Like Burnham,
an exhibition that introduces families to Daniel Burnham and
the 1909 Plan of Chicago.

Gallery
A unique interpretive facility designed by Skidmore, Owings
& Merrill that offers a sleek, modernist venue for receptions
of up to about 60 people. There is limited seating and presentation
space.

Santa Fe Building Atrium
This large, historic space is the Chicago Architecture Foundation’s
primary exhibition space.
Extended due to popular demand is CAF’s critically acclaimed
exhibition, Chicago Model
City, which features a large scale model of Chicago’s
Loop. The atrium can accommodate
receptions of up to 250 people.

General Chicago
Architecture Foundation Guidelines |
| • |
Rental spaces
are available 361 days a year. Additional charges applicable
for after hours, groups, weekend, and Holiday rentals. |
| • |
Space rental
rates are based on a two-hour minimum and exclude the
cost of chair and table set-up, janitorial services, any
cleaning services, additional staffing charges, miscellaneous
charges, and Santa Fe Building occupancy charges. |
| • |
All services
and costs not specifically included in the rental agreement
are the responsibility of the renter. |
| • |
A certificate
of insurance naming the Chicago Architecture Foundation
and the Santa Fe Building Management Company Hamilton
Partners as co-insured from the renter and each outside
service provider is required in advance of each rental. |
| • |
Events of
a primarily religious or political nature are not permitted
and events must conform to building regulations governing
security and tenant’s impact. |
| • |
CAF recommends
a preferred caterer; however, an outside caterer may be
used provided the caterer meets Santa Fe Building and
insurance requirements. |
| • |
The renters,
clients, contractors, caterers, vendors, employees, agents,
organizations, and event sponsors are ultimately responsible
for any damage to Chicago Architecture Foundation or the
Santa Fe Building by guests, agents, organizations, employees,
vendors, caterers, sponsors, clients, renters, or contractors. |
| • |
All décor
and signs must be approved and freestanding; nothing may
be affixed to walls, floors, furniture, exhibitions or
any other Foundation or Santa Fe Building structures without
prior approval from the Foundation. |
| • |
Alcohol must
be served by one of the caterers. If liquor will be donated
for the event, you will be required to provide documentation
that validates your organization's non-profit 501(c)3
status and provide a copy of a Special Event Liquor License
from the City of Chicago. |

Set-up
and Tear Down |
| • |
Liquor must
be contained exclusively in the event venue space; guests
may not travel outdoors or through the remainder of the
Building with open alcohol. |
| • |
Equipment,
linen, and all other items must be removed from the property
at the conclusion of the event. Any items remaining are
subject to removal at the expense of participating vendors,
caterers, contractors, agents, guests, clients, renters,
sponsors and organizations. Any charges incurred are due
within 10 days upon conclusion of the scheduled event,
after which additional fees may be added. |

Food, ice,
grease, garbage, and liquor must be properly disposed
of at the conclusion of the event. Any items remaining
are subject to removal at the expense of all participating
vendors, caterers, guests, contractors, agents, clients,
employees, sponsors, and organizations. |
| • |
Any scraping
or damage to the walls, floors, furniture, and exhibitions
will be billed at the expense of vendors, clients, caterers,
contractors, guests, agents, sponsors, employees, or organizations.
Any charges incurred are due within 10 days upon conclusion
of the scheduled event, after which additional fees may
be added. |
| • |
Unauthorized
pre-sets and overtime charges will be billed to the renters,
vendors, clients, organizations, contractors, employees,
agents, sponsors, and guests; Any charges incurred are
due within 10 days upon conclusion of the scheduled event,
after which additional fees may be added.
Events which utilize the Elizabeth Morse Learning Studio
for food preparation must cover the entire floor area
with removable waterproof material, in addition, any food
stations located in any carpeted CAF venue space must
also be covered with a removable plastic material, no
less than 3 feet, in all directions. An appointed Chicago
Architecture Foundation representative will conduct a
walkthrough and must provide approval prior to beginning
any food preparation. |

Caterers
and Vendors |
| • |
The names
and phone numbers of all vendors, caterers, contractors,
guests, sponsors, clients, employees, and agents must
be supplied to the Chicago Architecture Foundation no
less than 14 days prior to the event. |
| • |
A designated
representative, responsible for all vendors, renters,
caterers, guests, contractors, clients, employees, sponsors,
and organizations, must be present and identified to supervise
the event as well as the set-up and tear down. Caterers
must provide Chicago Architecture Foundation with the
name of the head caterer at least two days prior to the
event. |

Beverage
service must end 30 minutes prior to the conclusion
of the event. |
| • |
Caterers,
vendors, contractors, clients, sponsors, employees, guests,
and organizations must check in and out at the beginning
and end of the event with a representative from Chicago
Architecture Foundation prior to entering or exiting any
venue space. Markings on the floor space, walls, and exhibits
are considered damage to the space. Vendors, caterers,
renters, contractors, guests, agents, clients, employees,
sponsors, and organizations are responsible for any damages
to the Santa Fe Building and any Chicago Architecture
Foundation spaces. Any charges incurred are due within
10 days upon conclusion of the scheduled event, after
which additional fees may be added. |
