About the Designer
A watchful gaze is Ukrainian artist Daria Hlazatova's most frequent and personal motif. "I never feel like the work is truly alive unless it has at least one eye in it," she says. "It should look back at you." Hlazatova thinks of her artwork and style as a synthesis of everything she has seen, enjoyed, and dreamed of. Her style—rich in lacy detail and rife with spontaneous, rhythmic energy—lends itself to the starscapes and mythical figures that she often portrays.
