Frank Lloyd Wright Prairie Star Motawi Tile
The intricate design on this tile is adapted from art glass on a lamp Frank Lloyd Wright designed for the Dana House. The geometric abstract pattern of the lamp's art glass incorporates nature's autumnal colors (one of Wright's most famous muses). When lit, the room is filled with a warm glow.
Dimensions: 7.8 x 7.8 inches
Tiles are 5/8 of an inch thick and have a notch at the back for display.
About Motawi Tiles
Motawi polychrome tiles are striking individual art pieces as much as functional tile installation accents, made by hand and with heart in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Motawi tile makers embrace variation and handmade beauty. The bold heft of each Motawi tile reveals serious craftsmanship, and time-honored hand-glazing methods produce a nuanced range of color with depth and translucence.
