Historic Water Tower Postcard
The historic Chicago Water Tower is one of the few remaining structures to have survived the great 1871 Chicago Fire. Today, surrounded by modern day skyscrapers, this upscale shopping district is a tourist mecca along the Magnificent Mile. Within the Water Towers castle-like style hides a 138 foot standpipe which was used to help regulate water pressure in the city.
