This book is a self-guided version of one of the Chicago Architecture Foundation's most popular walking tours. Graceland Cemetery's impressive monuments include the landmark Getty Tomb, designed by Louis Sullivan, and sculptures created by Lorado Taft and Daniel Chester French. The walk covers the graves of Sullivan himself, Daniel Burnham, John Root, Mies van der Rohe and other noted architects. The tour's 41 stops also include the graves of former Illinois governor John Altgeld, boxer Jack Johnson, and such prominent Chicago citizens as Marshall Field, George Pullman and Cyrus McCormick.
